A visit to Lefkara during the Lefkaritikos Ttavas Festival is incomplete without sampling the village’s signature dish, Lefkaritikos Ttavas. This traditional meal is a slow-cooked delight made with:​

• Tender lamb or goat meat​.
• Rice
• Layers of onions, tomatoes, and potatoes​
• Flavours of salt, pepper, cumin, and cinnamon​
• Olive oil and water​

The ingredients are sealed in a clay pot and slow-baked for hours, allowing the flavours to meld into a delectable dish.​

As the afternoon unfolds, the enticing aroma of Lefkaritikos Ttavas fills the air, guiding you to the courtyard of the village’s Primary School. Here, local women prepare and serve tasting portions of this traditional dish.
